Arts Can Transform through Willingness and Outreach

ACT TWO (Arts Can Transform through Willingness and Outreach) is a non-profit philanthropy that believes live theatre has the power to transform. We act on our belief by bringing the performing arts to people who have limited or no access to such an experience. The results of this willful outreach are inspirational, profound, and transformative!

Our Model

Picture
ACT-TWO brings together three groups to carry out our mission: professional theatres, academic drama departments, and special needs communities. The primary elements of the model are:

  • Professional theatres donate tickets to upcoming productions.
  • Local school drama programs raffle off the donated tickets to generate revenue. Note: Only two raffles a year are permitted by law in North Carolina.
  • Special needs communities receive the revenue to purchase tickets to the professional theatre company productions.

Our Role

Picture
Our purpose is quite simple - to bring a meaningful, professional theatre experience to as many under-privileged people as possible. We are a loosely affiliated collection of people and organizations, amateur and professional, that recognize the power of theatre.  We put academic theatre departments (secondary and collegiate) in touch with professional theatres and service organizations. By joining our effort, you are declaring your interest in implementing the ACT TWO model and in doing so, connections are made.
